Excel and CSV diff

Compare two tables by one or more key columns, inspect additions, deletions and changes, and export the differences.

Local processing
Instructions and limits
  1. Import the before and after tables, select worksheets and delimiters, and inspect previews. Map corresponding columns and choose one or more key columns.
  2. Compare and filter added, removed, changed or unchanged rows. Expand records to inspect before/after values and export CSV or a highlighted XLSX report.

The first row must contain unique nonempty headers; keys cannot be blank or duplicated. UTF-8 CSV/TSV: 5 MB per file; XLSX: 10 MB per file. Combined inputs: 20,000 rows and 200,000 cells, with up to 200 columns per table. Compares values without Excel display formatting; formulas use cached results without recalculation. Reports: 200,000 cells / 10 MB.

Use cases and example

Compare product lists, inventory, staff records or order exports from two dates. Match records by ID to find additions, deletions and field changes even when row order differs.

Upload last week’s and this week’s inventory, use product ID as the key and map stock and price columns. Filter changed records, inspect before/after values and export a highlighted XLSX for review.

Only mapped non-key columns determine changes. Unmapped columns are excluded. Blank or duplicate keys stop comparison; use a composite key when an ID has multiple records. Values compare as text without XLSX display formatting; missing or error formula caches are rejected. CSV formula-like values receive a protective prefix.
