JSON formatter and validator
Edit highlighted JSON, explore its tree, locate errors and sort keys without changing number literals.
Instructions and limits
- Paste or import JSON, choose spaces or tabs, then format, minify, sort keys or validate.
- Switch between output and tree; select issues or nodes to locate the input, then copy or download.
Number literals and string escapes are preserved. Duplicate keys are reported and retained; sorting is blocked with duplicates. Limits: 1M characters, 128 nesting levels, 50K keys/values.
Use cases and example
Inspect API responses or configuration JSON in an editor with line numbers, highlighting and folding. Format, minify or recursively sort keys, and locate values with the tree and JSON Pointer.
Paste {"id":9007199254740993123,"active":true} and format it: the large integer stays unchanged. In Tree, select id to see its /id pointer and locate it in the input.
Limits: 1M characters, 128 nesting levels and 50K keys/values. Strict JSON rejects comments and trailing commas. Duplicate keys are reported and retained; sorting with duplicates is blocked. Number literals and string escapes are preserved.
